William Cellini Sentenced to 366 Days in Prison

The longest corruption case in state history wrapped up last week with the sentencing of William Cellini to 366 days in prison.  Watchdog Illinois investigative journalist wonders how effective Operation Board Games will prove as a deterrent to corruption going forward. He quotes longtime Statehouse observer Mike Lawrence: “If we have learned anything, sending a governor to prison doesn’t act as much of a deterrent to other governors breaking the law.”
