Illinois Inspector General Says Mayor Dean Abused His State Job

Back in 2010, the Times of Northwest Indiana reported that Riverdale, Ill., mayor Deyon Dean’s two government jobs – as mayor and as an associate director with the Illinois Department of Human Services – required a minimum of 62.5 hours per week. More than two years later, the Illinois inspector general says Dean abused his state job, attending village meetings and spending  “the equivalent of weeks of time” talking on cell phones while on the job at DHS.
